Jan20 Got Jesus? (Pic)

When I saw this image, I quickly found myself able to relate to it. I’m sure many atheists have been hit with something to this extent. So much for being morally superior… The thing is, atheists are also guilty of this. I’ve even seen this tendancy in myself to take this approach. Really it gets us nowhere. Screaming that somebody is an idiot or a dumbass won’t convince anybody, it will just enrage them. Discussions should atleast have some class to them if anybody wishes to be successful.

I like to play devil's advocate with the hyper religious because it tends to get them into fits. It also tends to piss them off. My mum suggests I should stop arguing out of my weight class, but it's like a cat playing with a mouse. I know that I'm just winding them up for my own sick pleasure and it's fun!

The problem is that you assume that everyone in the Christian worldview is out of your "weight class." Sounds like you have been engaging with too many ignorant fundamentalists. To be honest, I find that most atheists intentionally engage only with those who they know they can taunt easily. All the arguments, insults, propaganda, and blogs are posted against them and not the Christians who are actually more educated, thoughtful, and well read than they are.

Read it again. Slowly this time. I've dealt with many different christians. From the ignorant to my neigbour, an Anglican bishop.

Oops, wrong comment, Guess I should have read again. Slowly. Sorry.
  • Haha, That's great. Way to lead by example and with compassion, eh?

It's true for some, but not all. A bully understands bully. You pick and choose your style to match the I.Q.
