Dec22 Seven States Prohibit Atheist Representatives

Recently North Carolina has been in a big debacle over their recent election of an atheist to a public office. It turns out, there are SIX OTHER states which prohibit atheists from holding office. WTF. Most of them are in the South. The states are: Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, South Carolina, Tennessee and Maryland. These laws are outdated and illegal. Our United States Constitution overrules any of these state’s religious requirements. For more information, watch this video I found.

At least we have atheists getting elected though. It’s a positive step towards a less biased and more accepting future.

I heard about this a couple days ago. I actually go to college in Asheville, I was pretty happy to find out we had an atheist with a political position.

That's really, really fucked. Way to rape the founding fathers on this one. No wonder why most of the world thinks Americans are idiots. It doesn't seem to register in some people that countries like Sweden are about 85% atheist or agnostic... and they're doing quite fine.

Up here in Canada might be colder but it's slightly less retarded when it comes to religion. Slightly.

Yea Sweden and Norway are actually better off than America in many
respects. Religion seems to fuck the whole world in general pretty
    hard.
