Nov05 Go See This Film!

I recently got a copy of Oh My God the movie. It is a film based on what people think about God. Director Peter Rodger made a film that is not about God, but is about what people think God is. He goes around the world asking the question “What is God?”. He even asks a few atheists what they think. Really though, he asks people from ALL walks of life. The people interviewed span from Hugh Jackman and Ringo Starr to children in poor countries.  Overall the purpose is not to convert people. The purpose would be to make people open their eyes. It gave me a better understanding of what people think and I think it is going to make waves when it hits theaters. I even talked with the director about the film this afternoon. His belief is that God is a word which describes the concept of humanity. The thing that holds us all together and allows us to speak. Peter Rodger does not think God is an old man with a beard who created us all

We are primitive organisms on a big rock in a scary vacuum, driven by fear and desperately trying to find something to hold onto. What I believe to be true is that by holding onto something — whatever it is — we don’t have to push others away just because they don’t believe in the same things we do.

I personally thought it was a great film, and would recommend it to all of you out there. The message behind it is a good one and I think it needs to be more widely adopted.  At the very least, I can say it made me think. And isn’t that what good art is supposed to do?

Hi I just read one of your other blogs and it is clear like most who do not believe in God you do not fully understand what it is we believe. I am a christ follower, the words I follow do not come from any mere mortal but from the bible the spoken word of God. As for following a man with a berd, He is no man but the Son of God Jesus Christ, He died so that we may live. It is easy to say "I've seen so now I believe," but in the Word it tells us that those who say such things will see and still not believe. I use to be a drug addict, I had droped out of High school and was so deprssed I wanted to kill my self, and everytime I popped a fist full of pills I begged for the end. God kept me through that. When I gave my life to him in 2007 I was forever changed in just a moment. I went home and flushed all my drugs down the tiolet and never looked back. That does not mean however my life was perfect nor will it ever be, but I have a peace that passes all understanding and a Love that knows no bounds. There is much more to this story and I hope that perhaps you would email me so we can chat. I know you probably think all christians are closed minded but I ask you to have an open mind and understand I am not here to cause any arguments or to fight with you through email. I merely offering you a chance to get to know someone of a different point of view who does not know you but I feel it was destined for us to speak and I hope you will return my offer of friendship. I look forward from hearing from you, and if I never do, I want you to know that God loves you even when you denie him. God Bless <3
